I left my room, and I sat down by the fire

Heard them speak the things I've spoke many times before
But then I came to realize it was a different kind of night

And so I left my house, and walked over to that hotel
It felt like home so many times before

Met some people there, and took them down to that old place
We used to drink, used to dance the night away

Tried to join the fun, but the person at the door
She wouldn't let me in, so I left without my grin

So in my room again, I sat down and wrote this song
We all end up just the same as we begin
